As temperatures begin to cool and people spend more time indoors, fall becomes an ideal season to focus on supporting your immune system. While there is no single food, supplement or habit that guarantees illness prevention, healthy routines can help your body function at its best and support immunity throughout the season.
The good news is that many immune-supporting habits also contribute to better overall health.

These basics may sound simple, but they can have a powerful impact.
Nutrition plays a major role in immune health. Fruits, vegetables, lean proteins and whole grains provide vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and other nutrients that support normal immune function. Hydration is equally important.
PHMP Health Coach Melanie recommends:
- Eating a balanced diet rich in fruits and vegetables.
- Managing stress through mindfulness, meditation, prayer, breathing exercises or physical activity.
- Staying hydrated with water, herbal teas, and broths.
- Getting 7–9 hours of sleep each night.
Stress management is often overlooked but can significantly affect how we feel and function. Taking time to move, rest and recharge may support both physical and mental health during busy seasons.
“A healthy lifestyle offers many benefits, including helping to prevent heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity, and other chronic diseases. Another important benefit is that healthy routines enhance your immunity.” – PHMP Health Coach Carlos emphasizing that healthy routines extend beyond immunity.
September also marks the beginning of many seasonal prevention efforts. Establishing healthy routines now may help you stay healthier throughout the months ahead.
