The holidays are meant to be enjoyed, food included! But indulgence doesn’t have to mean guilt. It’s all about balance, mindfulness, and staying true to your healthy habits while making room for joy.

Healthy Holidays - Enjoying Seasonal Treats Without the Guilt

PHMP Health Coach, Adriana agrees and adds, “Savor your favorite dishes by focusing on portion control and filling your plate with colorful fruits and vegetables alongside traditional favorites.” Staying active, hydrated and stress-free also helps you feel your best throughout the season.

If you love a holiday favorite, don’t replace it, just enjoy it with intention. As the Mayo Clinic’s Chef Jen Welper says, “I don’t want Grandma’s apple pie to be healthy, I want it to be just like it’s always been.”

That said, if you’re looking for a lighter twist, try a baked cinnamon apple bowl; simply core and slice apples, sprinkle with oats, cinnamon and a drizzle of honey, then bake until warm and soft. You’ll capture the flavor and comfort of pie, but with fewer calories and added fiber.

And remember, the secret to healthy holidays? Have your pie and eat it too… just stop before the second half disappears.

Challenge: Choose one celebration this season to practice mindful eating. Slow down, savor and fully enjoy your favorite treat without guilt.
